FWP is thrilled to host the second show in our Community Center Concert Series! Join us on November 9th at 6pm (doors open at 5:30) for rockabilly from local musician Billy Folchi, plus an opening comedy act by former Woodland Heights resident and Travis Elementary alumnus Henry Coffman! ALL AGES ARE WELCOME! Let’s continue to “Bring Music Back to the Park!”
Billy Folchi is a singer songwriter originally from Missouri City, Texas. He started out learning blues and rock and roll in the 1980s while at school in Austin and then went on to play in bands in many different places including a 20 year period in France, evolving through styles of blues, rockabilly, surf and garage rock, all the while writing and performing as a solo folk singer alongside his other pursuits. Since returning home to Texas in 2018 he has worked mainly as a solo artist, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar or singing with electric guitar over homemade backing tracks. Although Billy still enjoys playing in all the roots-based idioms he grew up with, his compositions for the past decade have focused upon themes of spiritual uplift and the evolution of the planet towards a new era of global harmony and cooperation.
Thank you to our new Music Director, Loreta Kovacic, and HPARD for supporting this free musical event.
