Harpist Joanna Whitsett to Perform at Woodland Community Center Concert Series Spring Concert
JOIN US ON THURSDAY, APRIL 18th for a beautiful harp performance by Woodland Heights Musician Joanna Whitsett. She will be performing at the historic Woodland Community Center in Woodland Park. All ages are invited, and free refreshments will be provided.
The Woodland Community Center Concert Series is organized by the Friends of Woodland Park Music Director, Loreta Kovacic, and has “brought music back to the park” - recreating the sense of joy and community from the concerts and dances held in the early years of the building’s construction.
Per the University of Houston, “Joanna Elliott Whitsett is a recitalist of international stature, and has appeared in recital in important churches and cathedrals throughout the U.S and Europe. She is the recipient of the Doctorate of Musical Arts from University of Houston under the direction of Dr. Robert Bates.
Joanna also is a concert harpist and received her MA in harp performance from Baylor University. She has performed as soloist and served as harpist for several ensembles including the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, Baylor Wind Ensemble, Waco Chamber Ensemble, Angelettes Harp Ensemble, Ft. Worth Civic Orchestra, University of Houston, Houston Civic Orchestra and Divergence Vocal Theater.”
