"FWP and Bridgestone Americas Team Up to Clean Up Woodland Park!" was the winner of the 2013 Mayor's Proud Partner Award! In October 2012, approximately 50 Bridgestone Americas employees (along with their vendors Carquest and Napa Auto Parts), 40 neighborhood volunteers, and 35 volunteers from UHDowntown Environmental Club descended on Woodland Park to remove nearly 500 tires and 200 bags of garbage and other debris. The event had two major outcomes - it brought attention to the problem of trash accumulating in the park, and it reintroduced the beauty of the park to the community. The FWP is very grateful for all of the volunteer participation and for the city's recognition of this very successful event.
